The completion of the Klimahaus® (Climate House) at
the end of June 2009 marked the successful completion
of the tourism-oriented development priority at the
Old Harbour. Further development of the Havenwelten
project now concentrates on the completion of buil-
ding work around the New Harbour to the north. The
successfully launched tourist investment projects
have uncovered additional requirements with regard to
creating more lodging and hotel capacities in various
categories, expanding the entertainment offering and
creating diverse office and residential complexes. The
city has resolved to determine a detailed development
plan for this part of the Havenwelten project as well, in
order to meet these requirements and provide a scope
of action for investors.
